Gallatin County Tobacco Use Prevention Program

Montana law now requires every enclosed public place and workplace to be smokefree.

The Montana Clean Indoor Air Act honors individual's rights to breathe clean air and protects the health of workers and the public.

Over time, the law will save lives, reduce illness and stop the unnecessary drain on our health care dollars.

The Gallatin County Tobacco Use Prevention Program is a community based program that is addressing the public health crisis caused by the use of all forms of commercial tobacco products.

Our plans for 2009-2010 will use best practices and build on past successes to:

  • Prevent local youth from beginning a lifetime of addiction to tobacco products.
  • Eliminate disparities related to tobacco use and its effects among certain population groups such as women of childbearing age, and low-income residents.
  • Help communities increase the number of housing and apartment complexes with smokefree designations.

Tobacco Free Gallatin is funded under a contract with the Montana Department of Health & Human Services-Montana Tobacco Use Prevention Program and Bozeman Public Schools.  The statements herein do not necessarily reflect the opinion of those departments.
